  • Extensions

The “go to” for most building projects is the extension. With the various options to chose from being a single storey extension, rear extension, wrap around extension, double storey extension or both, there are choices to be made.

    • Figuring out what your main objectives for the project are will be paramount. Do you want a new kitchen with an open plan living space?
    • Do you need extra space for a utility room? Is it extra space downstairs and an additional bedroom upstairs?
    • Does the look of the extension and building hold more importance with you?

Once these have been answered and a realistic budget has been set, the fun can begin. Over the years we have built extensions of all shapes and sizes, using a variety of materials and methods to achieve that unique look for each project. We are always looking to build positive relationships with architects so that we as a collective (us, the architect and you the client) can bring the ideas to life and create the home you have planned for.

  • Project Management

All building projects that we take on will require project management due to the various trades required on site at different stages of each project. Every job is different so each job requires its own tailer made programme to suit.

With careful planning of how we anticipate each individual job to run we can give a good indication of when each part of the project will take place. This can open up timeframes throughout a project as to when certain trades can be booked in for, when decisions need to be made by or when certain materials or supplies need to be on site ready for use.

One of the aims of successful project management is to reduce the need for quick-fire or knee-jerk decisions on something that “needs an answer now”. If this can be avoided by discussions and utilising our programme , we (client and builder) can discuss options well in advance with the aim to make decisions early and in good time.Although projects can evolve as the build progresses, the project management aspect of the job will really come into play. Re-organising trades, supplies and on site staff needs to be done quickly and efficiently to avoid longer delays than necessary on your build

  • Loft Conversions

Sometimes extending your property from the ground up isn’t an option. Whether that is because there isn’t space to extend to the side or rear of the property, or the need for more space is better suited to the top of the property, loft conversions are a popular choice.

With the potential to make use of the whole footprint of the house, there is usually space for at least an extra bedroom or 2 plus a bathroom in the loft space. Detailed Developments are adept at creating loft conversions in all styles, using traditional tiled construction to more contemporary looking designs using other cladding methods such as zinc metal sheeting.

  • Structural Alterations

The majority of our building projects will undertake some form of structural alteration along the way. This could range from something as simple as opening up a single internal doorway and creating a double doorway, to removing rear and side external walls to create an open plan living space in a newly extended area.

With varying methods being specified by structural engineers, our experienced team have the knowledge and equipment to complete these alterations safely. Turning homes into brighter open spaces or creating open plan living will usually rely on some sort of structural alteration so having this part of the job taken care of by our team will keep the project in house

  • Garden Rooms & Offices

The way that the UK has changed over the last few years, the need for a separate space from the house has certainly increased. Whether that is a space to set up office so that you can work from home without distraction or the need for space for home workouts, garden rooms can be the answer.

There are a few rules and requirements that need to be met, but in most cases you can build a garden room without obtaining planning permission. Garden rooms can be built quickly and designed to suit your needs best.

With minimal disruption to the house and anything inside it, the construction of garden rooms is a popular choice because of the lack of intrusion or disruption to the house hold in comparison to a loft conversion or extension.
